I've mentioned this product several times on my blog, and a lot of you have expressed interest in it. I definitely want you to know what you're buying, so especially since you heard of it from me, I feel like a review is needed. I don't want you to buy it, then have it be something you didn't expect!
It can be used as a body wash, facial cleanser, shaving soap, shampoo, and more
Handmade, domestic packaging, fair trade, no parabens, no animal testing, no SLS ( this is what makes shampoo foam, so don't expect this shampoo to be very foamy), no synthetic fragrance, gluten-free, and biodegradable
Ingredients: African mint (Ocimum canum), Extract (Aqueous), African Black Soap (Sapinified Shea Butter(Butyrospermum Parkii) and Palm Kernel Oil (Elaeis guineensis), Lauryl Glucoside (coconut), Tangerine Essential Oil, Orange Essential Oil, Lemongrass Essential Oil, Litsea Essential Oil. As far as I know, none of these ingredients are harmful.
It's becoming a big trend for shampoo companies to create products that are paraben-free, but parabens aren't the only harmful ingredients in these products. Although it's a great step, these products claiming to be so much healthier for your hair still have some questionable ingredients. This product contains no harmful ingredients, at least in my opinion and as far as I know.
It leaves your hair feeling soft
It smells fresh. The scent mine's in is Tangerine Citrus, and it smells great in my opinion!
Sticky feeling in the shower. You know how your skin feels when you use a bar of soap? It feels like your skin is tighter and kind of sticky. In the shower, your skin and hair will feel like that. However, this never really bothers me, because once my hair is dry, it feels soft.
It doesn't foam very much. Like I mentioned before, this product doesn't contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, which is the chemical that creates the foam. This too, doesn't bother me, but if it will, this product may not be for you.
It doesn't have a very strong smell. If you love people being able to smell your shampoo in your hair when you flip it, you won't be a fan of this, haha.
So those are all of my pros and cons for this product! I've really enjoyed it so far, and I use it as shampoo, body wash, and shaving soap. When I get out of the shower, I moisturize with coconut oil, and my skin is left feeling soft. Please consider this review though if you're thinking of purchasing it, I don't want you to expect something that it's not. But in my opinion, it's wonderful! If you're wanting to purchase it, you can find it at Nature's Fare Market for about $8 I believe.
